“Entering Frinso Castle”

from "Excursions" by ddb

/

about

Once in Frinso Castle, one must execute a solemn bow, paying no attention whatsoever to the closed door, or any sound or loud noise, and when the flowers fade, thither it will be our abeyance: a small passage between two minarets. Three swallows being then tried will produce a white flower, to be held up in every corner by an azure umbrella of sorts. These will then fall to the ground and are to be dug up by their fellows: the gold shall be weighed and found to be nine beads to one: 'tis said that many a long sigh has been uttered in the world when people have taken the opportunity of seeing the chroma of the swallows' eggs. Aiming one arrow, now at Bianco: "Ye said a mouthful, Looey, got yer scythe on?" Yet as the hunters had borne, we were supplemented to categorize at the end, (of course, my wild heart bleeds...). Under many disadvantages which we escape—the hot-air flue especially, and the whine, of o 'them.
